What the professional qualification lets you know is that the person has demonstrated to a panel of expert judges in his chosen field (weddings ) through panels of photographic submissions (our only medium ) his/ her ability, skill and creativity in all areas of wedding photography.Judges will have been looking for ability at organising and handling people, use of light, general overall quality, and the ability to get the best results in various environments as shown in the photographs.-Isn't this like getting a personal recommendation from a friend ?
When choosing a wedding photographer it is of paramount importance, in my opinion, that you should seek out one with a professional qualification.
You may not see the importance of having somebody with a few letters after his name photograph your wedding, but in the wedding photography world there is no formal training or apprenticeship system and anybody is free to set up in business.
